Dr. Akram received her medical degree from Rawalpindi Medical College, University of Punjab, in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, in 1991. After completing her internal medicine residency at Harbor Hospital Center in Baltimore, Maryland, she completed a gastroenterology fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
Dr. Akram has been practicing with Digestive Specialists in Dayton, Ohio, since 2008 with special interest in GI. She is a member of several GI societies, including the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA), American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) and American College of Physicians-American Society of Internal Medicine (ACP-ASIM).
