Dr. Novick is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. Dr. Novick has been practicing Gastroenterology with Digestive Specialists in Kettering, Ohio since 1991 with a special interest in Hepatology (Liver Disease).
He is a Fellow in the American College of Physicians (ACP). He is a member of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD) and, in 2014, was selected to be in the inaugural group of fellows of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (FAASLD). This designation was created for members that epitomize excellence and contributions to the AASLD and to the field of liver disease. He is also a member of the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), College on Problems of Drug Dependence (CPDD), Montgomery County Medical Society (MCMS), Ohio State Medical Association (OSMA), and American Medical Association (AMA).
Dr. Novick is the author of more than 65 medical publications on hepatitis B and C, liver cirrhosis, colon polyps and related subjects. He is working on a book on GI for the general public and is a 2014 Erma Bombeck Writing Competition Award Winner. For details see www.drdavidnovick.com.
He completed his Fellowship in Liver Diseases at the Royal Free Hospital, London, England in 1984 and his Fellowship in Gastroenterology at Yale University/Norwalk Hospital, Norwalk, Conn. in 1991. Prior to his Fellowship experience, he completed his Internal Medicine residency at Beth Israel Medical Center, New York, N.Y. in 1977. Dr. Novick received his medical degree from Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. in 1974. He is clinical professor of internal medicine at the Wright State Boonshoft School of Medicine.
Dr. Novick lives with his wife, his four adult children are employed and he's happily tuition free! He enjoys travel and photography.
