What is Remicade?
Remicade is an IV treatment for patients with Crohn_s disease or rheumatoid arthritis. It does not have the side effects of steroids. Although results may vary, a single REMICADE infusion has been shown to reduce the symptoms of Crohn_s disease in patients with moderate to severe Crohn_s who have not responded well to conventional therapy.
REMICADE is a medicine that is given by IV infusion. Your weight will be taken to calculate the dosage of REMICADE that is right for you. You will be seated comfortably and the insertion of a narrow intravenous needle will be done in your arm. This procedure is very simple and takes about two hours. This is done in our office. The infusion will not make you sleepy and you should be able to continue with your normal schedule following the treatment.
